about me
get to know me a little better
Hi, I'm Jaci. Mum of four, animal lover, coffee enthusiast and photographer based on the beautiful Gold Coast, Australia. When I'm not spending time with my kids and pets, you'll more than likely find me baking something delicious and slightly indulgent or planning an extravagant overseas holiday in my head. I've always had a passion for creativity and working with children and families. Before diving head first into my photography business, which has allowed me to effortlessly combine the two, I was a teacher for over 15 years.
My love for photography started early; I always had a film camera in my hand as a kid and a handheld digital one as a teenager. I still cherish the printed and digital photos from my childhood and teenage years. Now as an adult and a mum myself, I am a big advocate for mums getting in the picture. It’s so important to capture those special moments with your loved ones. Remember, you're taking photos for your kids as much as for yourself.
Having my kids really fueled my passion for photography. Watching them grow and change made me want to capture as many moments as I could, as authentically as possible. I've documented their childhoods meticulously and want to help others preserve the special details of their everyday lives. Babies especially change day by day. It’s amazing how much children change in the first few weeks let alone the first few years.
My sessions are all about fun, natural moments, and no pressure. Come as you are, let the kids be kids, and let's capture the real, beautiful chaos of your life. Book a session with me, and let’s create some wonderful memories together.
The story of
esther and george photography
Esther and George are my grandparents. As a child, I loved nothing more than the adventure of spending quality time with them after a long drive from Brisbane to Dalby. They were kind, generous, loving and always made me feel like I belonged in their home. Plus my grandpa had a wicked sense of humour that would always keep me on my toes.
Even though I didn't get to visit them as much as I wanted to as a child, whenever I think back to the times that I did spend with them, my memories always make me smile. The problem is, that is all I have. Apart from two or three photos of when I was first born or photos with me as a member of a larger family group photo, I have absolutely no photos with my grandparents. I have no photos with the people the brought so much joy to my childhood.
My love of capturing families and all of the moments of motherhood stems from the lesson I learnt from having no photos with the people that I cared so much about as a child. If I had the chance to photograph any moments with my grandparents again, it would be the raw, natural and imperfect moments that we had together. The one-on-one moments that I remember so clearly.
Through Esther and George Photography, I strive to ensure that families have beautiful, meaningful photographs that celebrate their unique family connections and treasured memories.
